The Cornell Law School will be hosting a Q&A with Judge Amul Thapar, a judge on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Judge Thapar was the first appointed United States federal judge of South Asian descent and was on the Supreme Court short list this summer. Although he is a conservative judge, this is an opportunity to learn more about politics and the judiciary process. As Dean Peck of the Law School said, “One of our goals here at the law school is to offer our students ample opportunities to engage with ideas and people with whom they may not agree in an effort to expand their understanding and develop their ability to disagree in a professional and respectful way”.
