Cornell - March For Our Lives

After the devastating shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School which tragically ended the lives of 17 high school students and faculty, the movement for common sense gun control legislation has been stronger than ever. No longer will America allow Congress to continue to send their “thoughts and prayers” before shying away from the issue. No longer will America’s youth sit in silence while waiting for another tragedy to strike. The time for action is now, and we are excited to contribute to the national movement calling for an end to mass shootings through gun control legislation.

On March 24th, in conjunction with dozens of marches happening across the nation, The Roosevelt Institute will be organizing a march from the Arts Quad to Ithaca Commons. The conclusion of the march will coincide with the larger March For Our Lives rally in the Ithaca Commons (see more details for this here, which will feature inspiring speakers, food, and other exciting events. We hope that you will stay for the remainder of the rally at the conclusion of the march. This event will also be an exciting opportunity to engage with local Ithaca residents and learn how gun violence has been affecting the larger Ithaca community.

The time has come to say #enoughisenough to gun violence and fight for the safety and future of our generation. Join us in this national movement to push for stronger gun control laws and school safety!

We hope to see you all there!
